Pac-Man World 2
Yes, the beloved Pac-Man is back with a new PS2 release. This game's graphics were not too elegant, but it was still an addictive game.
It was fun, and the maps were well done, but still the child's artwork-like graphics really slam this game's quality. The graphics were good, but I must admit they were childish. This game would easily get a ten from me if it stayed in construction a little longer and was not rushed as much.
Yes, the Pac-Man legacy has many times been slammed for cheesy, unrealistic and childish graphics, such as a huge frog machine with a metal tongue. The games are fun, but the graphics haunt the game's qualities, so the bad almost always outweighs the good.
I found some major flaws in Pac-Man world. For one thing, in Pac-Village, Pac-Man is taller than the buildings, yet he still fits in the door. Also, the only fast way to fight is butt-bounce. It takes Pac-Man literally 3 seconds to release a punch.
The entertainment level of this game raised the rating by 2 points. Still, it could always be better.
Confused? Try this: Okay. Weigh Final Fantasy X's elegance to Pac-Man World 2's maps. That should do the trick.
I definitely expected more from this game. It was fun, and they deserve praise for that, but I must admit this game was a little to aimed at kids for its own good.
I loved this game, and after all that slamming, let's look on the bright side.
Pac-Man's fun qualities surprised me. I started just having fun while playing the game, and I stop focusing on the childish graphics. Be a 5-year old again, eh?
I think this game is worth the money. It is wonderfully fun and it really brings out the child in you.
